Built circa 1870, these townhomes are the oldest examples of high-density housing in Farrington’s Grove. The ornately-bracketed cornice and tall, arched windows identify the building as typical Italianate architecture.

The Wabash apartments, built in 1923, is one of the largest buildings in FGHD and stands in stark contrast to the surrounding single-family homes. The facade features stone accents and a wide variety of brickwork patterns, as well as a contrasting stucco band around the third floor. Window bays along the south and east walls provide the rectangular building with a more complex appearance.

This apartment building was developed in 1911 by Dr. William Bell, a local physician. Built for luxury, it once featured a pool and rooftop garden in addition to other amenities such as an internal telephone system (rare for the time). The Jacobethan Revival building displays a striking facade with unusual purple brickwork and stone accents. Its defining feature is the massive mansard roof supported by elegant brackets and framed by two prominent chimneys, capped with clay pots. Reach Services of Terre Haute now occupies the building.
